MTG Old Frame League XIV

The Old Frame Vintage format continues to thrive and delight players from all around the world. The MTG Old Frame League XIV was a testament to this, with 12 initial players vying for the top spot in the competition. The league started in October 2022 and ran through February 2023, providing players with plenty of opportunities to showcase their skills and strategies.

In the MTG Old Frame League XIV, players battled it out in a single round-robin format, with the coveted prize being a beautiful foil altered Fastbond. This was the third custom-made altered foil prize for the league, following the Demonic Tutor of the previous edition and the Mystical Tutor of the edition before that.

The MTG Old Frame League XIV was a showcase of diverse archetypes, with players bringing 10 different decks to the table, including Drain Tendrils, Reanimate, and Infested Bazaar. This variety of decks made for exciting and unpredictable matches, with players constantly adapting to their opponents’ strategies.

However, the league experienced some hiccups along the way, with two players dropping out during the group stage.

Despite this, the remaining players continued to put up a good fight, with the standings ending up as follows:

Top 4

After an intense group stage, the Top 4 of the MTG Old Frame League XIV began, with the top players from each group battling it out for the prize.

The first semifinal match between Attilio Bragantini‘s Hulk Smash and Víctor Martínez‘s Dump Truck was a nail-biting affair, with both players giving it their all. However, Attilio’s Hulk Smash deck ultimately prevailed, winning the match 2-1.

The second semifinal match between David Aparicio‘s Landstill and Jaime Cano‘s Drain Storm was equally intense, with both players displaying impressive skill and creativity. In the end, David‘s Landstill deck emerged victorious, winning the match 2-1.

With the semifinals concluded, the stage was set for an epic finale between two of the strongest decks in the competition.

Finals

It was finally David‘s Landstill that was victorious (we will soon upload the finals video). Thus, the organiser and winner of the first season of the Liga Madrileña de Old Frame, got his first taste of online glory.
