After a pause since the fifth Unreserved event on 3 August, the format returned to Gremio de Dragones on 16 November with its sixth tournament. Six players showed up ready to shuffle up old frame decks again, playing four rounds of Swiss with no elimination stage.
Unreserved is our local custom format built from Mercadian Masques through Scourge plus Seventh Edition, excluding the Reserved List. It keeps the feel of early-2000s Magic while letting players actually play with their cards, and it has already developed a small but recognisable metagame over these six events.
Final standings
Below are the final standings.
1st – Luis Sevilla – Solution

2nd – Vedast Sanxis – Psychatog

3rd – Armin Tamzarian – RW Aggro

4th – Leandro Suero – Beauty and the Beasts

5th – José María Toledo – Tyrant’s Guilt Trip

6th – Garrofaman – Zombies

A very on-theme prize
The winner did not just leave with another trophy line on the Unreserved history page. As a special prize for this sixth tournament, Luis received a hand-painted miniature of Flametongue Kavu, painted by fellow participant José María Toledo.

Flametongue Kavu is one of the most iconic creatures in this card pool and a frequent sight in Unreserved decks, so having it represented as a custom miniature painted by one of the players was a perfect, very in-format reward.
Looking ahead
Six tournaments in, Unreserved at Gremio de Dragones has a clear identity and a core group of regulars. Established decks like Solution, Psychatog, Zombies and “Beauty and the Beasts” keep coming back, while lists such as “Tyrant’s Guilt Trip” add personality to the field.
We already have plans for future Unreserved events at Gremio and do not intend to let another long gap go by. If you enjoy old frame Magic and this particular card pool, keep an eye on the calendar and bring your favourite Unreserved deck to the next tournament.
