Deck construction

Cards per deck

At least 60 plus a 15 cards sideboard. At least ⅓ of your main deck must be of a particular creature type. At the start of each game, your main deck must still have at least ⅓ of a particular type.

Allowed sets

Fourth Edition, Ice Age, Chronicles, Renaissance, Rinascimento, Homelands, Alliances, Mirage, Visions, Fifth Edition, Weatherlight, Tempest, Stronghold, Exodus, Urza’s Saga, Urza’s Legacy, Sixth Edition, Urza’s Destiny, Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, Prophecy, Invasion, Planeshift, Seventh Edition, Apocalypse, Odyssey, Torment, Judgment, Onslaught, Legions, and Scourge.

Reprint rules

Every tournament-legal reprint is allowed.

Contemporary rules and errata are followed.

Banned Cards

List of Tribes

These are the different creature types for cards printed during the Premodern era. It may not be possible to build a deck with any of these tribes, as there may not be enough of them. For example, there are only three different Antelopes, or there is only one Cockatrice or Dreadnought. There are also some creature types not included because there are no creatures with that type, but there are cards that create tokens of them, like Caribou Range for Caribous or Icatian Town for Citizens, and several cards for Saprolings.
