Old Frame World Series 2025

This is the original announcement for the Old Frame World Series held on May 31 and June 1, 2025 at Gremio de Dragones in Valencia, Spain. The rules, prizes and schedule below describe that event.

The original announcement offered more than €2,200 in prizes, exclusive giveaways and the title of Old Frame World Champion.

Event Details

Dates:

  • May 31, 2025: Old Frame Vintage
    • Start Time: 10:00 AM
  • June 1, 2025: Premodern (part of the Liga Mensual de Premodern Valencia)
    • Registration Opens: 10:00 AM

Gremio de Dragones, Calle de Domènec Gómez, 35, Valencia, Spain

Entry Fees:

  • Old Frame Vintage: €30 (advance payment required)
  • Premodern: €25 (cash on-site only)

Structure:
Both events will use a Top 7.2 Swiss format.

Card Legality Rules

For both Old Frame Vintage and Premodern events, all reprints are permitted — including gold-bordered cards, Collectors’ Edition, International Edition, 30th Anniversary, and reprints released after Scourge. Players are encouraged to use Old Frame cards and artwork up to the Scourge set to preserve the nostalgic feel.

Decklist Submission

Players must submit their decklists on paper, with all card names written in English, at the start of each event.
Decklists must be legible and typed on a computer — handwritten lists or paper cloths are not allowed.
Organizers will collect decklists when players are seated and ready for Round 1.

Archived entry fees

The original entry fees were €30 for Old Frame Vintage and €25 for Premodern. Registration and payment collection for these 2025 tournaments are closed.

  • 1st: International Edition Mox Jet (Good)
  • 2nd: Visions (Portuguese) + Exodus (English) + Apocalypse (Traditional Chinese) + Legions (Traditional Chinese) + Scourge (Italian) Booster Packs
  • 3rd and 4th: Judgment + Scourge Booster Packs (Traditional Chinese)
  • 5th to 8th: Legions Booster Pack (Traditional Chinese)

Exclusive Prizes – Only for players who participate in both events

Old Frame World Champion:

  • Old Frame custom playmat signed by all participants

Giveaways (random among all dual-event participants):

World Champion Title

The player with the highest combined Swiss points across both events will be crowned Old Frame World Champion.
Tiebreakers:

  • Playoff points
  • Most 1st place finishes
  • Most 2nd place finishes
  • And so on

Side Events – Saturday Drafts

Once the Old Frame Vintage sixth Swiss round begins on Saturday, we’ll be hosting two exciting draft side events:

Each draft will use a sealed booster box and feature 8 players drafting with 4 booster packs each, instead of the usual 3. The winner of each draft will receive 3 booster packs as a prize, and the finalist will receive 1 pack — the last unopened from the box.

Available Drafts:

  • Nemesis (in Portuguese)
    • Entry Fee: €70
  • Apocalypse (in Spanish)
    • Entry Fee: €100

These rare booster drafts are a unique opportunity to crack historic packs and play with cards from Magic’s golden era. Registration for these side events is closed.
