1. What Is Unreserved?

Unreserved is a closed, non-rotating, community-run format that features every Old Frame set from Mercadian Masques (Oct 1999) through Scourge (May 2003), including Seventh Edition (Apr 2001). The card pool will never expand: no future releases will be added. None of the cards belong to the Reserved List, so Wizards can reprint any of them in the future to help keep prices in check, while players who want the classic look can still sleeve up the original Old Frame versions.

2. Why Play Unreserved?

Closed Card Pool	The list of legal sets will never change, so your decks and favourite cards stay playable without buying or learning new sets.
Reserved-List-Free	The supply of all cards can increase through future reprints, which can keep prices in check.
Old Frame Aesthetics	Classic card frame on every spell, brown artifacts, and “shooting-star” foils for an authentic 1999-2003 feel.
Full Foil Possibility	Because every set in the window had foil printings, it is possible to build a 100 per cent Old Frame foil deck.
Varied Mechanics	Rebel tutoring, Kicker, Domain, Threshold, Madness, Morph, Cycling, Storm and more. Twelve expansions packed with unique strategies, plus one core set.
Clean Slate Metagame	The format has no predefined tier list; players are free to explore and shape the environment from scratch.

4. Deck Construction Rules

Main deck: at least 60 cards.
Sideboard: up to 15 cards.
Copies: up to four of any individual card other than basic lands.
Rules: current Magic Comprehensive Rules and current Oracle text apply.
Banned & Restricted List: none at this time.

These lists are early examples meant to inspire players to brew their decks. They are not guaranteed to be competitive and will evolve as the community tests the format.
