II Liga Madrileña Old Frame – Day 4
Nine participants gathered for Day 4 of the II Liga Madrileña Old Frame on July 29, 2023 at Tempest Store, Madrid, Spain.
On top of store credit based on attendance, the prizes consisted of 2 Traditional Chinese Judgment booster packs and an exclusive playmat for the winner.
In the final round, which can be seen in the Liga Madrileña de Old Frame Youtube channel, Juan Manuel Delgado’s Doomsday faced Jorge Larrumbide’s Stax.
Although Jorge managed to start the first game with a Sphere of Resistance followed by a Triskelion on his second turn and a Jester’s Cap on his fourth turn, Juan Manuel was able to assemble his combo after returning Sphere of Resistance to his opponent’s hand with a Chain of Vapor.
On the second game, Sphere of Resistance, the most important card to stop the combo deck, wasn’t casted until Jorge’s third turn, when he played his third land, probably to avoid facing a Daze. However, it was countered by a Force of Will. Juan Manuel was able to play a lethal Tendrils of Agony on his next turn.
