Deck Construction Rules

  • Cards per deck: At least 60 plus a 15 cards sideboard.
  • Allowed sets: Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Homelands, Alliances, Mirage, Visions, Weatherlight, Portal, Tempest, Stronghold, Exodus, Portal Second Age, Urza’s Saga, Urza’s Legacy, Urza’s Destiny, Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, Prophecy, Invasion, Planeshift, Apocalypse, Odyssey, Torment, Judgment, Onslaught, Legions, and Scourge.
  • Reprint rules: Cards from other sets are not allowed except for gold-bordered ones, Arena League Fireball and DCI Legend Membership Promos Counterspell and Incinerate.

Rules

Contemporary rules and errata are followed, with a few exceptions:

  • Mana burn is in effect.
  • Judgment Wishes (Burning Cunning Wish, Death Wish, Golden Wish, and Living Wish) can look for exiled cards, not just cards from your sideboard.

  • Banned: Amulet of Quoz, Timmerian Fiends.
  • Restricted: Academy Rector, Ancient Tomb, Brainstorm, Burning Wish, Demonic Consultation, Earthcraft, Enlightened Tutor, Frantic Search, Goblin Recruiter, Memory Jar, Mind’s Desire, Mystical Tutor, Necropotence, Tinker, Tolarian Academy, Vampiric Tutor, Windfall, Yawgmoth’s Bargain, Yawgmoth’s Will.
